FutuRSI Consortium Meeting in Berlin: Two Days of Exchange, Strategy, and Governance

On November 6 and 7, 2025, the entire FutuRSI consortium met in Berlin for our semi-annual in-person meeting. Colleagues from six different cities came together to collaborate on the strategic and structural development of our project.

Focus: Organisational Structure & Governance (OSG)

This meeting focused strongly on OSG – Organisational Structure and Governance. We discussed which organisational and governance models make the most sense for FutuRSI and how we can build a sustainable, transparent, and efficient structure for the future.

Among the topics we explored were:

• Different governance models and their implications for projects like FutuRSI
• Advantages and disadvantages of centralised vs. decentralised organisational structures
• Distribution of roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes within a diverse consortium

Thanks to many interactive formats, the discussions were highly engaging and—enriched by the diverse perspectives within the consortium—particularly multifaceted and valuable. The meeting highlighted how important a shared understanding of governance is to successfully achieve our long-term goals.

Moving into the Next Project Phase

We are motivated for the months ahead and look forward to further developing the ideas and models we worked on, and integrating them into the practical progression of FutuRSI.
